The deputy of the Russian Parliament and leader of Russia's Liberal Democratic Party made these comments on December 27th during a television broadcast, as the West views Russian troops near Ukraine with concern, and as something that could result in an invasion of the state.
Zyrinnovsky, who is known for his harsh remarks, said on television channel Channel One that if he were president, he would bomb Ukraine between December 31st and January 1st at 4am when “each is drunk”.
“Somebody has to punish them, someone has to scare them”, he said one day after suggesting Russia should annex the entire Ukraine.
Chechen leader Ramzan Cadyroz, also known for the harsh leader in Russia's Caucasus region, has said on December 26th that he is ready to help annex Ukraine.
“Ukraine must be annexed in our country, this is our territory”, Cadyrov said.
This harsh rhetoric has been reported since the United States and European allies accuse Russia of threatening potential invasion of Ukraine.
Russia has only occupied the Crime and supports separatists east of Ukraine, who have fought for nearly eight years.
Russia has denied its aim at invasion, accusing Ukraine and NATO of provocations.
