She said that for the November-December period alone, over 12m euros have been spent on electricity imports.
“Z The RRE has opened the demand of extraordinary tariff reviews yesterday in line with legal obligations, since operators' expenses are much higher than anticipated. Import expenditures have reached 12 million for the November-December period, while it has been seen spending no more than 12 million for import” for the entire year, she said, during reporting on the Economy, Industry, Intervention and Trade Commission.
Furthermore, Rizvanolli said electricity import prices for kilowatt are up fivefold higher than the prices currently operating on the market.
The daily electricity is sold at the price of 7 cents per kilowatt, while import prices are minimally four, five times higher, and it is a matter of time until a company can afford it. We also have problems on the part of KOSST because no payments have been made on the part of KED and KEK on tariffs and the purchase of power on the part of the KOSST at high prices for system balance services”, she said further.
Kosovo has recently been affected by the energy crisis. Prime Minister Albin Kurti days ago at the Kosovo Government meeting has called on ministers to take the necessary actions to secure electricity for citizens.
