The summit will begin today, meanwhile, more than 100 states will have the opportunity to meet virtually.
“Republic of Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani will represent Kosovo at the Summit for Democracy, which will hold visual works on November 9th-10th and in which more than 100 states from around the world” will participate, the Presidency's announcement said.
As noted in the announcement, one of the topics Osman will talk about is the area of rule of the Law in Kosovo.
“The opening of the summit will be made by US President Joe Biden, meanwhile, President Osmani in her address to Sami will present key points of Kosovo pledges in the field of rule of law, international co-operation in fighting autism, strengthening women's role in society, and establishing mechanisms to ensure implementation of”, the Presidency announced.
Osman's speech will begin at 1600.
The event for participation in the Summit for Democracy has been sent to President Osmani by President Biden on November 9th. The president has included representatives of other public institutions and representatives of civil society. What is the Democracy Summit organised by President Joe Beden
The Benden Harris administration through this summit aims to prove that democracy can function in society and improve people's lives, and, at the same time, oppose authoritarian movements in various countries of the world.
The White House has published data on the official page for the Summit for Democracy, including the challenges of democracies and next steps after the summit.
It also says the summit aims to show controversy against authoritarian leaders who are undermining democracy by targeting journalists and advocates of human rights, intervention in the elections, claiming that their model is authoritarian is better for people.
On December 9-10th, 2021, President Beden will organise the first of two Samity for Democracy, which will unite leaders from government, civil society and the private sector to establish an affirmation agenda for democratic renewal and address the biggest threats confronting democracies today through collective action.
