“A cancelled event is better than a dying life”, said WHO head Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebresus, adding that difficult decisions must be made.
We're all sick of this pandemic. We all want to spend time with friends and family. We all want to go back to normal. The quickest way to do this is for all of us leaders and individuals to make difficult decisions to protect ourselves and others. In some cases, this will mean canceling or delaying events. But a canceled event is better than an extinct life. It is better to cancel now and celebrate later than to celebrate now and later grieve”, the WHO leader stressed.
His comments came after health experts claimed Omitron is now the dominant version in the US.
A number of countries, including France and Germany, have tightenedavi's restrictions and imposed restrictions on travel in an effort to prevent the spread of the new version. The Netherlands has set a strict impasse during Christmastime.
