The global energy crisis has been warned since the beginning of the year, so the Kosovo government has had plenty of time to link contracts at a time when electricity prices in stock exchanges were still reasonable. It is a fact known by all that during the winter domestic production cannot afford the increasing consumption of any government must be prepared for import.
It has also been possible for the budget adopted in October to envision increased costs of rising international prices and cost funds to subsidise businesses or the most damaged social standings.
But what is most important is to emphasise strategic achievements in the energy field for this irresponsible prime minister, who is only capable of demagogy.
- It forced the Contour Global Company to withdraw from construction of the New Kosovo thermal power plant with a 1.2 billion-euro investment with a capacity of 500 megawatts.
- Blocked the French strategic investor “Akou Energy”, which had received approval last year to invest in Vushtrri, over 110m euros in wind energy, under the “Cicavica Wind Farm 1 L.L.C.” project. Media have reported that Akou has moved to northern Macedonia.
- It blocked US agency's 200m-euro grant to the gas delivery network, as well as the project for natural gas power plants that would cover 20% of Kosovo's needs.
