Beer worshippers may face an unwanted surprise, as their distributors have threatened strike because of payments.
Union leaders claim that distributors, who distribute beer to 20,000 coffeedries, clubs and restaurants, have been falling wages and payments for overtime work.
Union leaders say the staff, responsible for 40 per cent of the shipments of Heineken, Carlsberg, Charlesing and Coors, are stressed and have difficulty paying the bills.
About 99 per cent of the union members have backed the company's industrial action by vote next month.
