According to the US news agency Bloomberg, which quoted an anonymous diplomat as saying his state was very angry and required immediate clarification of what Beden planned to speak to Moscow.
Another source, as well as the diplomat, expressed concerns that the US could approve concessions that could lead to “political financing” and “frenzied the freedom of NATO movement”, RRT reports.
Biden's announcement that he wants a meeting between NATO and Moscow came after a virtual summit with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.
After this discussion, he spoke with leaders of other NATO member states.
According to the American president, future talks would include “at least four of NATO's biggest allies”.
