Matkos Company: State doesn't allow us to generate electricity in times of crisis

The KBMkos Group has said that at the time of the largest energy crisis, operating is being unable, although according to them, two water production projects with a capacity of 11 megawatts have been completed for 10 months now.

The private local-international firm, Matkos Group S.P.K., is a company founded in 2011 with the aim of participating in investment in renewable sources, responsible for the construction and production of clean energy from hydropower in the municipality of Shtrepca.

Their construction also dates from the Energy Community's obligations, and the Energy Community Ministers Council's decision on the appointment of obligations Kosovo must achieve by 2020. The K.M.M.M.P. Group, and I have personally since the start of studies have never left legal procedures and in full compliance with legal requirements have applied and met all the conditions required. Hence, production capacities are already committed and their release to work, except that it would prevent further losses of the company, would ease the energy crisis affecting Kosovo. But for the beginning of operations after the trial phase, it must be equipped with environmental permission from the Ministry of Environment. We have applied for this permit 10 months ago, but no legal response has been accepted by the Ministry.

The lack of environmental permission is causing me huge credit losses and delays in fulfilling my obligations to banks, and it's also damaging my personal and family health, completely without my blame, even because I have had and have great will to fulfill all obligations to the state.

For your knowledge, the completed projects have had a high investment cost totalling 25m euros, borrowed from commercial banks with extremely high interest rates with the maturity period for 8 years. Delays in payments to monthly installments are increasing the debt that can't be returned in 10 years.

We as a local firm only infrastructure works have been implemented, while parts of turbines and equipment have been brought by the European Company that have carried out their deployment, testing and monitoring these projects according to the standards of countries developed in EU states. We have faced numerous attacks and labels, without any physical and professional analysis in the field.

Ministry officials have been constantly monitoring every project on the ground. Our goal is not to damage Environment, but to preserve, re-cultivate and clean up in accordance with environmental conditions and legal obligations, and to respect the biological minimum as required by the Ministry.

Let us inform you that the current situation in which these projects are located has been finalised and all rehabilitation has been completed according to legal requirements.

It will also be cleared of the waste that inhabitants throw into the river, and new ones are cultivated by ongoing firms.

I invite media and journalists to take all the materials and conduct research on the ground that will confirm that these projects have helped improve the protection of the environment, as the river flow will be constantly cleared.

The propaganda that supposedly construction of these projects has threatened the water of drink for residents of the Shtrpce municipality is not accurate or true, since the drinking water is neither endangered nor endangered by the use of surface waters, which have neither related to underground drinking waters, since even Water Left has been defined by surface water.

While Kosovo through Shet's budget is buying energy at European Stock Exchanges at 500 Euro euros per MWh, when transportation and profit are added to companies' markets exceed 600 euros for MWh, while local production for 11 MWh can pay much less and much cheaper than 67.
