For ten years, Kurzi said she was engaged in Austria in various government positions. However, recent months and weeks were difficult. He was sometimes persecuted, Cuz explained. Now that he's become a father, his priorities have changed. He realized that he had neglected areas other than politics. Moreover, his enthusiasm for politics has waned, meanwhile.
The new leader of ⇩VP is expected to be Interior Minister Carl Nehammer.
Kurz resigned as head of government in October, after corruption investigators raided Chancellory and ⇩VP headquarters. Kurz and some of his close political associates are suspected of having published manipulated polls in the media. Public funds are reportedly being used for this purpose. They are especially accused of violating their faith. Kurz, who rejects the charges, became a member of parliament as parliamentary speaker after resigning from his post. He also remained chairman of the ⇩VP.
In mid-November, the Austrian parliament voted to lift Kurzi's immunity so as to allow the charges to be clarified quickly.
The meteoric career
Until this time, Kurz had a meteoric career. He became foreign affairs minister at the age of 27 and federal Chancellor at the age of 31. His first term as chairman of the government ended in 2019, after charges of corruption were brought against the rightist coalition partners of FP failure. As part of the investigation into the so-called Ibiza scandal, investigators also examined the text messages on the mobile phone in the district of ⇩VP, which eventually knocked Kurz down. /DW
