Late-hour protest in Pristina: Veternik residents in 24 hours without power

One of the neighborhood representatives, Tomor Baruti, said they are protesting in a sign of dissatisfaction, as more than 24 hours have been made without electricity and have no response from KED.

Last night at 11:00, we have no power. Most of the residents here warm up. KEDS does not report us, even though we have called all the residents, even we have gone there. We have no answer. Our aunt is that we don't have electricity, nor do we have answers, and we don't know what the problem is”, Baruti told Kosovo Clan.

Since most city dwellers are heated up, Baruti has said that they have sent their families to other family members and to their homes only family heads are staying.

Most of the time we took our families out of their homes and sent them to relatives. We're staying because there must be someone at home for security reasons. The biggest problem is that nobody gives us answers”, he explained.

Baruti has said that if even after this protest they will not receive answers from KEDS, they will be forced to take even more drastic steps.

We're in trouble, and in protest we're out here. If no one from KED answers us, we'll block the main road in the Veternik district. We have no choice. Let someone answer us why we have no power”, Baruti added.

Another resident of this neighborhood has said that the lack of electricity for many hours has led to the expulsion of family members from their homes.

The “has certainly caused us difficulty in leaving family. We have elders. We want an answer about when we're going to have electricity and we're about reconciliation to have reductions like everybody, but not this way”.
