Kurti herself through his Facebook account has shown that in his address to the Stabilisation and Association Council between the European Union and the Republic of Kosovo, he has said that even after twenty years he finds himself fighting for an independent and sovereign Kosovo, Periscope follows.
Twenty years later, many things have changed in the world, but we still find ourselves, and I find myself fighting for the same cause and facing not so different threats. The cause of a sovereign and independent Kosovo, which is now a well-known reality and denied by little, and the growing threat from the aggressive neighbour”, Kurti said.
He added, among other things, that there is no better place than in Europe's “home, and in this large European family that has dealt with these memories and appealed for more wake-up, while we face a growing threat of more and more Ottomans growing”.
Full speech to the Stabilisation and Association Council between the European Union and the Republic of Kosovo of Prime Minister Kurti:
On this day, two decades ago, I was released from Nis prison in Serbia. I was arrested on 27 April 1999 in Kosovo, just 34 days after the start of NATO bombings on Serbia and its military and paramilitary targets to stop genocide in Kosovo.
Twenty years later, many things have changed in the world, but we still find ourselves, and I find myself fighting for the same cause and facing not so different threats. The cause of a sovereign and independent Kosovo, which is now a well-known and denied reality by a little, and the growing threat from an aggressive neighbour.
And there is no better place than in this house of Europe and in this large European family to share these memories and call for more wake-up, while together we face a growing threat of autism.
Today's meeting of the Stabilisation and Association Council between the European Union and the Republic of Kosovo is an important moment in implementing the Stabilisation and Association Agreement, especially in the post of launching the second phase of implementing political priorities within the European Reform Agreement (ERA).
At this meeting and separate meetings with European Parliament President David Susssol, European Commission President Ursula von Leyeen, European Union High Representative Josep Borrell, Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Oliver Varhely and Special EU Representative Miroslav Lajčák stressed the necessity of visa liberalisation for Kosovo citizens and reaffirmed the readiness of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo for the European agenda.
