AAK GP chief Besnik Tahiri, the initiator of the parliamentary debate, has submitted the draft resolution proposal for salaries in the public sector.
Kosovo's “government as soon as it brings the draft wage bill to the public sector for approval in the Kosovo Assembly, so that implementation begins on March 1st 2022”, he has said by reading the draft resolution for salaries in the public sector.
Prior to that, he addressed criticism of Kurti Government for lack of will for adopting the wage law this year.
I'm aware it's a huge chaos in the pay law sector. It takes four cases you need to address. It's the aspect of political consultation. You have a preliminary consultation not to turn the law into a social discontent. Under three, you have expertise in government and international. Under four, you have decision-making. The law has been broken when the political-inflicted cofficiency increased. Where to Find the Money We must reduce the budget line of additions, but this is needed political will, and the will for the law's adoption this year has not been”, Tahiri has indicated.
The session's chairman, Saradi Bogujevci, has said that in the absence of quorum, as only 45 MPs were present in the hall, the draft resolution proposed by the AAK GP cannot be put to the polls and that with the remaining points will continue at another session.
Otherwise, Prime Minister Albin Kurti, earlier today during the hearing, said the government will draft the Law for the Salaries, with which the core wage problems will be addressed.
He said government spending has been lowered under his leadership and revenues have increased.
Approval of the Law of Salaries is seeking the Federation of Kosovo Health Unions and the SBASK. Several weeks are now continuing discussions and disagreements between Kosovo trade unions on one side and Government on the other.
The clashes of the past weeks come after months of labour unions had called for a meeting with Prime Minister Albin Kurti to submit their demands, while the latter declared there must be changes in trade unions.
