Kosovo is not expected to save Omitron variant

Kosovo is not expected to escape the Omitron version of COVID-19 that has put many countries in the world in trouble. USKKUK Director Valbon Krasniqi says the possibility of presentation is obvious, since even the ways of spreading this version are the same as other variants. Kosovo has sent several samples for testing in Germany, as it is suspected to be in the new version of COVID-19. The results are still pending.

Montenegro is the last country in the region to have been officially affected by the Omitron version. Yet, Kosovo is already at risk, especially when the movement of citizens for holidays increases, but even gatherings in closed environments.

Krasniqi says that in Kosovo there is a calm pandemic situation, where the number of hospitalised persons has not passed 50 patients during just this month.

There are weeks, even months, that are small and we are experiencing an extremely convenient pandemic situation in terms of COVID-19. As a result, the number of patients lying at CKUK clinics and hospitals has dropped sharply for more than two months by below 100, and this past month, we have never spent over 50 patients lying in CKUK clinics and general hospitals. But, of course, this situation is the result of measures undertaken by government and health institutions, and in particular, I want to point to the respect and implementation of measures on the part of citizens”, he said.

We are now given additional doses of reinforcement, and the third, anti -id - CO VID for people over 18 years of age, so the USKKKUK director considers it the right moment for citizens to be isolated with these vaccine doses.

It's the best time to use it now, even in the winter season, even more strengthening the need to take the third dosage and the reinforcement dosage, now people start closing in closed environments, in groups, whether family or even larger, where the risk of exposure is greater, so I'm saying that we can use this situation in order to continue to maintain this collective immunity that has been formed with the passage of COVID, even with the creation of immunity as a result of the 441x>, Krasniqi said.
