Former Kosovo Peace Forces Commander Klaus Reinhardt is dead today.
The hardhearted “greets and lowers the KFOR flag in halfway for the loss of former commander, General Dr. Klaus Reindhardt”, says in a Facebook post.
General Reinhardt commanded KFOR between October 8th 1999 and April 18th 2000.
We as KFOR soldiers never forget our brothers and all share the pain of losing our former commander. Rest at peace, General. You will never forget”, KFOR announcement concludes.
KFOR's first commander was crucial to providing numerous and important impulses for the reconstruction of private homes and public institutions, as well as the re-establishment of civilian institutions.
Klaus Reinhardt had taken over from Michael Jackson, who had commanded NATO troops' entry into Kosovo.
