Her full mail:

With deep sorrow, I have accepted the news that General Klaus Reinhardt has separated from his life.

As the first commander of KFOR troops in Kosovo, General Reinhardt has made a decisive contribution to the gradual return of the Republic of Kosovo to a normal, civilian life and to the reconstruction of the country after a terrible war and facing genocide.

In addition to the protection of the population, the establishment and preservation of peace in Kosovo, General Reinhardt's role was crucial even in providing numerous and important impulses for the reconstruction of private homes and public institutions, as well as in the re-establishment of civil institutions.

With his service and leadership, he has made a very valuable contribution not only to Kosovo, but also to his country, Germany, and has rightfully taken an irreverent place in the collective memory of Kosovo citizens.

We are forever grateful to General Klaus Reinhard, who always had Kosovo in his heart and will always remain in our hearts.

Our family and friends, the German army, in which he served so much during his country, Germany, expressed our heartfelt condolences.
