Krasniqi stressed that in “Kosovo A” there are several minor problems, which he hopes will not grow any further, Klakosova.tv reported.
“Of course there are, we can't be sure with thermal power plants that we're so old, we're doing our best, as well as KEK workers and experts that these units are holding, but the oldness of these units doesn't guarantee safe operation, even when we talk at “Kosovo A”, we have small problems that we hope will not grow any further, but who can guarantee this. Nobody. Because these “Kosovo units A” are from the 1970s, imagine they are over 50 years in operation”, Krasniqi said.
On the other hand, Krasniqi said they are doing their best with the units in the operation, to have energy during the New Year.
The “We what we can secure is to do the maximum production with these units that we have in the A thermal power plant and B1 units that we have in operation right now, we're also trying to trade energy for these days of holiday”.
North Macedonia has expressed interest in buying a very large amount of coal from Kosovo, but for us it is always a priority to supply our operating units, we will not be committed to the winter period because we have the priority of operating our units, certainly after spring when climate conditions are more convenient, and the demand for energy starts to decline a little, we are seeing the possibility of providing them with significant amounts of coal, what they need and lack in Macedonia. That would be a convenient contract, we have enough coal reserves”.
