Israel is planning to become the first state to offer the fourth dose of the vaccine against the Coronavirus as it prepares for a wave of infection promoted by the Omitron version of the virus.
Pandem experts in Israel have recommended a fourth dose for people over the age of 60 and health workers.
Israeli Prime Minister Naphtali Bennett has welcomed this plan and has told officials to start preparations, Tch reports.
This announcement comes after Israel confirmed the first death of a patient infected with the Omitron version.
The Ministry of Health in this state has identified at least 340 cases with this version.
The fourth dosage decision must be approved by senior health officials, but the prime minister's office has told British broadcaster BBC that it hopes the fourth dose will be given four months after the third dose.
Although Israel is one of the countries that has earlier developed the vaccine campaign, only about 63 per cent of the population of 9.3 million people have received both doses.
This has reasoned with the fact that Israel's population is relatively new and a third of the population is under the age of 14.
Israel now vaccinates children from five years of age.
Because of the outbreak of pandemic, Israel has recorded more than 1.36 million cases of coronary infection.
According to Johns Hopins University data, about 8,200 people died with this virus in Israel.
