Import added by Kosovo endangers Europe supply

European states are facing increased gas and energy prices, in part due to increased demand in this period of economic recovery from pandemic. This has an effect on the Kosovo energy crisis that is facing a decline in production that has forced it to import more than is planned and poses danger [...]
According to Reuters report the European Electricity Network ENTSO-Eʹs Regional Group Continental Europe (RGCE) has asked KO STT to take care of and maintain the national balance it owes contract.
Kosovo produces a majority of energy from two coal-fired thermal power plants and usually imports 10-15 %s of energy, but that figure has now reached 40 %s.
“As a consequence, Kosovo is importing energy that was not pre-priced on market time” has told the Reuters agency ENTSO-E (European Network of Transition Systems for Electricy) in their request for information, adding that Kosovo's high demand could threaten supply across Europe.
“NTSO-E has called for KO STT to maintain their national balanced electricity system, which is also an essential contractual duty towards other broadcasters in continental Europe” have responded by email Reuters from NTSO-E.
