The US Embassy in Kosovo has announced that Jeffrey Hovenier was sworn in Tuesday as the new ambassador to Kosovo, ahead of US Undersecretary of State Victoria Nuland.
Through a post on the official Twitter page, the embassy has also published several photos of the oath ceremony.
On Tuesday, Jeffrey Havener was sworn in before US Undersecretary of State Victoria Nuland as the new Ambassador to the United States in Kosovo. We're waiting for his” arrival, said the embassy's post.
Otherwise, Jeffrey Havenier was confirmed by the Senate as ambassador of the United States of America to Kosovo in November of this year.
The news was made known on the official site of the American Senate.
“Jeffrey M. Hovenier from Washington, Senior Foreign Service member, the District of the Minister-Consulent, will be the extraordinary and almighty ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Kosovo.
The nomination vote is scheduled for the Senate Executive Calendar on October 19, 2021. The nomination was accepted by the president on July 13,2021, the Senate's announcement said.
Otherwise, Houvenier is a career diplomat of American foreign service who has been part of the United Nations Special Envoy's staff for the status of Kosovo.
In June 2018, former Kosovo President Hashim Thaci had decorated the diplomat Hovenier with the Jubilar Presidential Medal of Independence.
