The U.S. State Department, in its annual report on fighting terrorism in the case of Kosovo during the past year, also mentions Prime Minister Albin Kurti's decision along the Kurti government, where the National Co-ordinator for the Prevention of Democratic Extremism and Combating Terrorism was abolished.

“CT Coordinator Office/ CVE was abolished in February. In July, however, the new government Hoti appointed Interior Minister Agim Veliu as national co-ordinator CT/CVE”, said in the UN report on Kosovo, news reports.

At one of the first meetings of Prime Minister Kurti during the first government, there was the abolition of national co-ordinators.

“Proposed to abolish even several decisions involving appointment of several co-ordinators, the proposed decisions are as follows, the decision on appointment of state reform co-ordinators, the decision to appoint co-ordinators for climate and environmental change, the appointment of national co-ordinators for youth and sport, the decision for the management and control project leaders of wanderers, the decision to appoint the coordinator against violent extremism and terrorism, the decision on appointment of the national co-ordinators for NATO integration and membership, and the decision to establish the task force against narcotics and security forces at the country's <1ndodox, Kurt e.

Prime Minister Kurti proposed that decisions involving the appointment of several co-ordinators be abolished.

However, the Hoti Government restored the position of co-ordinator for fighting terrorism, placing former Interior Minister Agim Veliun at the helm.

The government of the Republic of Kosovo, at the meeting held today, has named Minister of Internal Affairs Agim Veliu, National Co-ordinator for the Prevention of Distremism and Combating Terrorism. This appointment does not imply that a new position has been created. In the position of co-ordinator, he will have no new staff, no additional payment”, the announcement said.

In current governance, the position of national co-ordinator for the war on terrorism is held by Interior Minister Jedal Svecla.

His appointment has been disclosed by the prime minister's office in April this year, though he has not been assigned any period of length of his mandate.

“Under responsibilities for implementing sector strategies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Interior Affairs Minister Jhelal Svecla has been appointed National Co-ordinator for preventing violent extremism and fighting terrorism”, the report said.

The national co-ordinator's responsibilities for fighting terrorism are the following:

Co-ordination, co-ordination, monitoring and reporting policy implementation, activities and actions related to issues of fighting terrorism and violent extremism;

The prime minister's advice about issues involving fighting terrorism, and violent extremism and radicalism;
