Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has welcomed the United States' decision to sanction the organised criminal group at the helm with Zvonko Veselinovic acting in northern Kosovo.
Kurti said today's decision by the United States of America confirms the legitimacy of Kosovo Police actions weeks ago in the northern municipality of Mitrovica against smugglers of illegal goods.
“responsible for the trafficking of goods, money, narcotics and weapons between Kosovo and Serbia, this group is the best evidence that crime in Kosovo's north is a daily reality that violates the legality of rights, freedom and citizens' goods. The links of interethnic co-operation of criminal groups and their transnational scope will be fought through the co-operation of officials of our institutions indiscriminately and international co-operation with our partners' allies”, Kurti wrote.
