Haradinaj: Kosovo in the hands of energy mafia

AAK Chairman Ramush Haradinaj has criticised the Kurti Government for cancelling the Kosova e Re project, saying that even the American gas pipeline's refusal will, recently, bring unpredictable consequences to Kosovo's energy position. “rightly asks the question: Who are these people who risk the stability of Kosovo's prices and energy independence?!”, Haradinaj has said.
Full Posting:
Neither have I believed that for such a short time, Kurti's strategic mistake of canceling the New Kosovo project in May 2020 signed with the American Contour Global Company.
When we signed the agreement in 2017 on investment of 1.3 billion euros, we have been aware that coal is not the future of energy, but Kosovo is not behind the quick alternative that preserves the citizen, guarantees economic development and preserves Kosovo's energy independence. We weren't such a developed country that easily and despite the high cost, it went to alternative energy.
With 500 The MW, which would be produced and with 10,000 new jobs being created, we have believed that environmental damage would be acceptable, in relation to the benefits Kosovo would have.
I've been insulted, and I've been lynching because the power price guaranteed by $80. MW is extremely high and that this price will destroy Kosovo's economy and some other kind of insult. In vain were our clarifications that all the predictions were that the energy prices of 2017 were unstable.
I have been convinced that these campaigns have often been orchestrated and financed by the energy mafia, which since he had already taken refuge in the Vetevendosje Movement with the construction of new capacities would lose a large market like the Kosovo market.
Today KED and COST officials say in their reports:
“KEDS and KESCO during October this year, so for a month, despite good weather, had imported 9.15m euros of electricity at the average price of $242 megawatts/h and nearly double the value of October was imported at the price of $340 on November 24th. The demand has increased by 200MW compared to last year”.
I don't have the information as it is in December, but it's clear that in the first moment the weather is roughed up, a god knows what the price will be and it's a big question whether Kosovo will have tools to buy energy at astronomical prices. KEDS and KESCO have no way to escape collapse if current trends continue.
Population and the empty rhetoric of Kurti Government are seen as beginning the first crackdown on the people of Kosovo and damaging long-term wrong strategic decisions will be paid by Kosovo's citizen.
Unfortunately, the U.S. pipeline's refusal will, recently, bring unpredictable consequences to Kosovo's energy position and not alone.
The question is rightly: Who are these people who risk the stability of Kosovo's prices and energy independence?
