What is provided with the Government's decision to declare emergency energy supply

The Kosovo government has announced that it has decided on emergency measures in power supply, which will be worth a maximum of 60 days. The deployment of these measures was announced after the Kosovo Government meeting, which was held on Friday 24 December. Under the government's decision, emergency measures in supply with [...]
Under the government's decision, emergency measures in energy supply include: Seting restrictions on energy supply for consumers, and setting specific obligations for energy companies.
The decision further states that the Government could begin with implementing measures immediately, but that the decision should be considered for approval by the Parliament of Kosovo in the seven-day term.
The Assembly has the right to reject measures, and in this case the government is obliged to interrupt them.
The Government of Kosovo's reasoning says that Kosovo's Elektro-Energy System is currently facing significant difficulties as a reflection of the significant growth of electricity consumption in the country, the inefficiency of internal generation to cover consumption, and the global energy crisis c1 has resulted in the price of electricity in international scholarships”.
The government further argues the measures with the fact that problems with electricity supply have been presented especially during December of this year due to the independences caused in thermal power generators “Kosova A” and “Kosovo B”. Another reason, according to the government, is the significant increase in electricity consumption.
The “given that around 85 % of consumers in Kosovo are domestic consumers, the demand for electricity has increased markedly as a result of the drop in temperatures”, said in the decision signed by Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
Through this decision, the government has formed an Emergency Technical Committee under the Ministry of Economy aimed at identifying and submitting recommendations for the Kosovo Economy Ministry.
Kosovo has been facing an energy crisis for days now.
Because of this energy crisis, citizens, from Wednesday 22 December, face electricity reductions.
The reductions were directed by System and Market Operator COSTT, due to overloading on the electromagnetic system.
The electricity bill in Kosovo could be expensive for 7 per cent in the coming months.
Such growth has called for the Kosovar Power Distribution Company (KEDS).
