The mayor for Kosovo Press says they are constantly working on the consequences to be minimal.
In order to absorb the crisis, Kryeziu says the government has allocated the 20m-euro KEK to subsidise electricity consumption in order to avoid price growth and ensure sustainable supply.
In addition, he says they have returned the 20m-euro division to COST.
The “government so far in addition to establishing a bowl of power two months ago that has made the necessary preparations for meeting this situation, in recent weeks we have adopted the decision in the government that constituted electricity consumption, in order to avoid increasing the price of electricity for citizens and the other side to ensure a stable supply...the measures have been undertaken in order to absorb the crisis, but when the global crisis is, and Kosovo for 20 years has necessarily failed to improve its capacities, regardless of what our efforts are as small as the least and the inevitable consequences of the matter are almost, the 27x.
Government spokesman says Kosovo has limited energy capacities and the rest of the consumption must be imported.
Because of the global energy crisis, he says the basic problem is the expensiveness and lack of energy that can be bought.
This energy crisis is not happening only in Kosovo, but it is a global energy crisis, since the case Kosovo cannot be an exception. It should also bear in mind that, in our bad luck, Kosovo has limited power capacity, it does with an outdated technology that it uses. They have always failed to respond to demand or citizens' need for electricity during the winter season. Usually the potential of electricity production with our capacity does not exceed 900 megawatts... So the rest of us need to be imported as important to the previous years. The difference is that this time is happening at a time when there is an energy crisis worldwide, hence the price is the most expensive importation, but at the same time the main problem is the lack of electricity that can be bought by the Government of Kosovo. This is the basic problem because of the global energy crisis”, he says.
Due to the reductions of electricity, today it will be protested before the KED and the Government of Kosovo.
