Gorani for Balkan Open: Kosovo has nothing to lose

Analyst Dukagjin Gorani has said that the Balkan Open is being shown as a more efficient initiative than the Berlin Process. He has also said that Kosovo is isolated and that it should see regional initiatives in a different light. I have no support for any initiative that is regional that has a purpose [...]

I have no support for any initiative that is regional which has a goal of overcoming the current divisions. I thought Kosovo should always be open because Kosovo has the least to lose out on enlargement and co-operation since we are small and isolated. It is true that we as a society are willing to create a climate of rejection within ourselves and then take the courage and right to declare a distance and not support initiatives. We can't choose partners and those who deal with this. I thought the scene of politics was over time, and it provided a kind of tolerance, but my heart was hoping to create a lack of fear of agreement. The Washington deal we signed has the Balkan Open there. Does this mean that when Trump was worth it and now it doesn't? Does that mean he changed his name and now he means anything? It's best to ask Mr. Hoti and answer him best”, he said on the Pressing Show in T7.

Gorani has said it remains to be seen how stable this initiative will be, but adds that the frequency of the meetings shows it is more serious.

“What I see is that the Balkan Open is trying to be more dynamic and efficient than the Berlin Process. He tries to be more effective. What is positive or how stable it remains to be seen. But after that meeting, at the end of February is the meeting in Skopje and then at the centre in Belgrade. Two more meetings will have this profile, while the Berlin Process does not know how it is organised and has remained as a tendency for co-operation. Now with the Balkan Open, where the chances of other countries being introduced are high, it can emerge as agility initiative. Kosovo is unanimous in rejecting the Balkan” Open, he concluded.
