At least 208 people have passed away, while another 52 result in extinction in the Philippines after a powerful and deadly tornado struck the country.
Typhoon Rai is the most powerful storm that has hit the Philippines this year and among the worst ever recorded.
Thousands of police, coastal guards and firefighters are working in the field to find the missing and are helping with food and water.
The Red Cross in the Philippines reported on <x0 total destruction” in coastal areas after Typhoon Rai destroyed homes, hospitals, and schools. Communication lines are completely destroyed in several cities.
Typhoon Rai struck the Philippines on December 17, and the winds reached up to 195 miles per hour. Most of the victims have died because they were hit by trees and walls that have collapsed, drowned in floods, or trapped in ruins after landslides.
The number of victims could be greater, but thousands were evacuated shortly before the typhoon hit the Philippines.
