According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the United States reported more than 440,000 new cases Monday. However, officials say this figure may be inflated due to delays in reporting during Christmas.
On the other side of the world, France has reported the largest number of cases in Europe. That country marked nearly 180,000 cases on Tuesday. Health Minister Olivier Veran earlier warned that the country could mark from 250,000 cases a day in early January.
Italy, Greece, Portugal and England also reported record figures Tuesday, the BBC writes, presented the Express newspaper. The World Health Organization has warned that the risk of Omitron version remains very high.
According to new updates, the number of new infections of all variants has increased by 57 percent in the week before December 26, Europe, and 30 percent in North and South America.
