EU chief Ursula von der Leyen has warned that the variant of the choreography “Omitron” could be dominant in Europe by mid-January.
“As regards accelerating pandemic and risks related to end-of-year celebrations, authorities must impose significant restrictions”, France's science panel said.
Paris municipal authorities announced “regret that we will have to cancel all planned celebrations in Champs Elysees on December 31st”.
“Fireworks will not happen, nor will unfortunately have any DJ set,” said the mayor's office for AFP.
