Expert: Stream in Kosovo is not expensive, but it is culture to save

Saving electricity to Kosovo is very necessary, as our country has little capacity for supply. And if energy is not saved, the government will be obliged to import electricity with taxpayers' money.

So said in an interview for Kosova Preiss, Swiss-based energy engineer Bashkim Dula. He has initially talked about the energy crisis in the world, which has come due to increased gas prices in the last two years.

According to him, in 2020, gas prices have been 15 euros, and this year it has increased 450 percent.

“As the main cause of emerging crisis is increasing gas growth rates, for example in October 2020 the price of gas has been 15 euros for megavators or 1.5 cents for kilowattors, and in October 2021 it has reached 80 megawatts, or 8 cents d.m., as well as 450 %s of the price, even when you know that all Europe is supplied to organisers after the impact”, he said.

He has added that savings is very necessary in Kosovo, as this country has smaller capacities for electricity supply.
