Energy crisis, OAK: Government as soon as it drafts a business protection plan

Kosovo's Oda of Afarism Board Chairman (OAK), Skender Krasniqi, during the release of the annual report, said 2021 was closing as a difficult infertile year during which private sector operation was very heavy. He also mentioned the energy crisis that has made it difficult [...]
He has also cited the energy crisis, which has made business functioning more difficult, considering that reductions are mostly damaging businesses and workers.
To help businesses, it is necessary that the Government as soon as it comes up with a plan to protect businesses, so that there will be as little electricity reductions in the areas where there are businesses, while in case of price hikes, the OAK requires that the financing be made to the price gap”, Krasniqi stressed.
The OAK head said the concern is the failure of the National Council for Economics and Investments as the country's highest level council, in which all business concerns should be addressed.
Krasniqi cited a series of demands they have made in the CEC to facilitate business work. One of these removes the 5-8 percent interest in turning metal money into banknotes, an obligation imposed by BQC.
Wishing for a more successful year in 2022, Krasniqi has asked Kosovo's prime minister, ministers and Assembly to be more active in co-ordinating policies together with business in the next year.
