The next physical presence meetings at the World Economic Forum, held in Davos, Switzerland, have been postponed because of new cases of contagion with the Omitron version of the coronary.
The annual “Appointments were scheduled to take place on 17-21 January 2022 in Davos. Now they are planned at the beginning of the summer”, organisers have said through a post on December 20th.
“The participants will have access to certain sessions that will unite world leaders in online format, to focus on solving the biggest challenges in the world”, it is said in the statement.
However strict security protocols, Omitron spread and travel impact have made delay necessary” necessary, organisers have said.
The last physical presence forum in Davos was held in January last year, just before the outbreak of pandemic in Western Europe.
This year's edition is also held in online format in January.
