D.L. Kosovo's 52-year-old bus driver, in which in a terrible accident on the highway near Slavonski Brod in Croatia in July of this year, 10 Kosovo citizens were killed, has been sentenced to two months in custody, his lawyer Igor Cisper for 24sata.hr has confirmed.

A month ago my client was released for protection in freedom. He was given precautions and should be in Zagreb. With the help of his family, he provided lodging. At the end of last week, the court gave the prosecution's complaint in force and decided that he would return to custody for two months. He is in Zagreb and is waiting for the police to take over”, said Cišper, who believes the decision is not good.

He said the driver is in very bad mental condition, but respects all court decisions.

It's very bad psychic state, it's still good physically, but it's a big influence. He respects all decisions regarding the case and I think he should stay to protect himself from freedom”, the lawyer added.

Since D.L. He is a foreign citizen, to him the detention measure has been appointed because of the possibility of escape. Foreignly, Croatia and Kosovo have no agreement for co-operation in criminal procedure, which envisions mutual extradition of citizens due to prosecution.

In the initial period, he has been assigned detention measures on two occasions. The driver was released on November 22nd by the court to defend himself in freedom.

According to the Croatian medium, Telegram Mirko Sviric, Judge of the Slavonski Brod District Court, released him. He did so despite the fact that the bus driver had not overcome the psychiatric, psychological, and neurological expertise required by the District State Prosecutor.
