The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Base Violence is an international campaign organised annually by UN Women. The campaign begins on November 25th, on International Day of Elimination of Violence on Women, and lasts until December 10th, International Human Rights Day.

The global theme of this campaign for 2021 is: Stop violence against women now!

Gender-based violence now can no longer be considered a private issue, since its consequences affect everyone and not only the victims who experience it. Families, communities and even a country's economic development face serious damage as a result.

The private sector may have a key role in combating violence on gender grounds, and the sensitivity of the community. Therefore, this year for the first time at the invitation of UN Woman's Kosovo campaign office “16 Days of Activism against the Gender Base Violence” have been attached to representatives of the private sector. In this case, in a sign of solidism with victims of gender-based violence, their support was offered and Cosmodita Home, Art Motion and Prince Capfe. Under this campaign, senior companies used their accounts on social networks to spread messages against gender-based violence, created orange angles, distributed brochures, broadcast commercials on television channels and on their Led screens, published articles on portals, assisting in sensationalisation and mobilizing the community in preventing gender-based violence.

Gender-based violence is not an easy question to address, but businesses play an important role in changing the norms and stereotypes that cause it, and they have much to earn by their efforts, including improving overall performance, and the productivity of their companies.
