MP The PDK, Abelard Tahiri, has reacted after the Constitution has named the decision of the Parliament on the dismissal of five members of the Independent Council for Kosovo Civil Service in June this year as unconstitutional. Tahiri, who was the forger of the constitutional application along with 10 other deputies, has said that the power attempt to convert independent institutions into political instruments has taken a merit blow from the Constitution.
“The attempt of current power for the destruction of independent institutions, so as to convert them to political instruments in their service and their families, today has been hit by the Constitutional Court. Close to six months ago, we warned the Parliament's majority that the illegal dismissal of five members of the Independent Council of Civil Service supervisory was against constitutionality, as well as an open attempt to intervene politically brutally, in an independent institution and very clearly based on law”, Tahiri wrote.
MP Tahiri said the Constitutional decision is the victory of the right over injustice.
The “I reiterate that, this is a victory of right over injustice, of merit over arrogance. Victory of democracy as the value of misuse in its name. The institution of the Independent Council of Overseers is there to protect civil servants and their rights. It, like any other independent and constitutional institution, cannot and will not allow it to become a tool of power for blackmailing public officials in the Republic of Kosovo”, Tahiri has said.
