Burnt bodies of children, a four-year-old Bulgarian boy and his two-year-old sister, were found in one of the camp huts that was involved in the fire, sources said.
One witness said the children were in bed when the fire broke out. “Dad had gone to work in the village when his mother had gone to the bathroom”, said Rosaria, a Romanian woman who has been living in this camp for six months.
When the woman returned, she found the hut on fire. The children were sleeping”, the witness added.
Sources said the fire may have been caused by a pot full of trees, Ansa agency reports.
About 1,000 people live in camp “Stornara”, where fire broke out.
