He said electricity consumption has increased, as have imported prices.
The country is currently facing great difficulties. Based on the analysis that has been done, there are three factors that contribute to this situation is the high rise in electricity consumption in the country, the inefficiency of production, and the international crisis that has raised prices at very high levels. Consumer has reached 1400 MW an hour that was never marked in corporate history. The production goes to 600MW and we have it outside the Kosovo B thermal power plant unit. Import prices are also going to 600 euros for MW, which are 10 times higher than last year”, he said.
Furthermore, Buzhala said the KED has been forced to begin with restrictions for the first time in the company's history.
For the beginning of these restrictions, he said the decision has been made following resource depletion.
We've been carrying the burden of electricity supply for consumers for several months. We have not applied reductions for any consumers until we have our resources. Complete system has become liquid and we have begun with restrictions. We're talking about restrictions that have occurred for the first time in the history of the company, which is, after eight years, we've started with restrictions after eight years”, he said.
