During a press conference, Hans Kluge said the Omitron version is already dominant in a number of European countries, including Great Britain, Denmark and Portugal.
“We can see another storm coming. Within weeks, Omitron will dominate more countries in the region. The large volume of new COVID-19 infections could lead to more hospital extensions and disruptions of other critical services”, Cluj said.
Kluge said 89% of Omitron's early cases in Europe were accompanied by common symptoms of COVID-19 as coughs, throat pains and fevers, with cases recorded mainly among persons in their 20s and 30s. /A2 CNN
