O BSH: New COVIDD-19 has not yet caused a single death

The World Health Organization (OBSH) said that so far it has not been reported to any death related to the new version of the Coronavirus, Omitron, which has been detected in almost 40 countries of the world. On December 3rd, WHO said it still takes time to understand how infectious this option is, if it causes more serious diseases, and how effective treatment and vaccines against Omitron are.

First data suggests that the variant is extremely infectious. This version had been identified in South Africa in November and could cause milder symptoms than preliminary versions, including the world's dominant Delta variant.

However, a number of people infected with Omitron version have sought medical help.

The Omitron vaccine is spreading at a time when hospitals in some countries are only loaded with patients infected with the Delta version.

In Europe, the new wave caused by Delta has forced governments to restore the measures, such as mandatory wearing of the mask, social distance, isolation and acceleration of the vaccine.

The European Union's Health Agency has warned that Omitron may be responsible for half the cases with COVID-19 in Europe in the coming months.

As a possible sign of Omitron's most infectious nature may also be the increase in cases in South Africa. In this state, about 200 cases were recorded within a day in November, but on December 3rd, over 16,000 cases of coronary cases were recorded. However, this number is lower compared to 25,000 cases that registered on daily bases during the last wave of pandemic in South Africa in June and July.

According to preliminary data from a study conducted in South Africa, Omitron is said to be three times more likely to cause reinfectation compared to the Delta version.

Global economic growth, which has already suffered shocks due to the Delta version, problems with supply chains and inflation, will likely slow down over the next year due to the Omitron variant, the International Monetary Fund (FMN) said.

Even before the release of this new version, we have been worried about the recovery, although it is continuing (reovercoming), it is somehow losing momentum”, said IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva.

The new subx0> that can spread very quickly can damage trust, and in that sense, we will likely see the reduction of our forecasts for October, in terms of global growth”, she said at a conference.

The IMF said last month it expects the world economy to grow by 5.9 per cent this year and 4.9 per cent next year.
