According to government data, 122,186 new cases of infection were reported in 24 hours, compared to 119,789 marked Thursday. This was the third day Britain reported more than 100,000 cases.
About 5 percent of Londoners probably had Avid on December 16th, and, according to early estimates, that percentage could go to ten on Sunday, according to the National Statistics Office models.
Many industries and transport networks are facing lack of staff, as infected workers are being isolated, while hospitals in Britain have warned of the risk of influence on patient safety, Reuters writes.
However, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has ruled out new restrictive measures, saying there is uncertainty about the severity of the Omitron variant and the degree of surveillance.
