Abbott an interview on Telegrafi, among other topics, has spoken of self-defence in Kosovo's justice system.
Ambassador Abbott said that because of how the process, veto is delicate, they have encouraged Kosovo Government to consult the Venice Independent Commission and listen carefully to international partners' concerns.
But in any country where such a system of self - sacrifice is established, it is always a delicate process that requires caution to be implemented successfully. For this reason, we have encouraged the government to consult the Independent Venice Commission for this, and to listen carefully to the concerns of other international partners”, Abbott stressed.
As Abbott says, they have long been working with the Government judiciary to conduct a functional review of the justice system and are pleased to see this process progress.
“We have supported efforts to strengthen rule of law in Kosovo for some time. We have worked with the judiciary and government to conduct a functional review of the entire justice system, as well as its work on assessing options for implementing a vetoing process for the judiciary. So I'm glad to see progress”, he says.
Nicholas Abbott has been talking about Kosovo relations the United Kingdom, the final agreement between Kosovo and Serbia, and other topics.
