31 Year of the League of Albanians

The League of Albanians today marks the 31st anniversary of the establishment. This association of educators was established in order to seek rights in education, rejecting discriminatory plans Serbia made towards education in Kosovo.

The goal of the League of Albanian Armenians was to block Serbia's intention to destroy education in Kosovo.

Serbia claimed that all the competencies of the Kosovo educational system to be held in Serbia were intended to impose plans in Kosovo. Also, it began to appoint school principals and inspectors who brought them from Serbia, but thanks to joining a resistance, we started doing programs, electing directors and others. This case began Serbia's terror over education in Kosovo, where salaries were first halted, then began to close schools until September 1991, where it closed all primary and secondary schools in Kosovo. Several schools also became barracks of the Serbian Army, while we resumed teaching in private houses”, one of the founders, Rexhep Osmani, has said.
