Albin Kurti was political arrested during wartime in Kosovo and was released on December 7th 2001, following international pressure to free political prisoners from the Serbian regime.
Kurti was arrested on April 27, 1999, in Pristina. Until May 2nd, 1999 has been held in Pristina prison. From 2 May to 10 June in the Lipjan prison. From June 10th to December 13, 1999, at the Pozharevci prison. December 13th through March 13, 2000, in the Nis prison.
The trial process against Albin Kurti was launched on 9 March 2000, while on March 13th it has been pronounced sentence of 15 years under the pre-conception of Yugoslavia's territorial integrity and sovereignty” under Article 116.
Again, from March 14, 2000, has been in the Pozharevci prison. The interview given in prison is on April 22, 2000.
From November 2000 to December 3, 2001, he was in the Quprie prison, and from December 3, 2001 to December 7, again in the Nis prison.
In addition to prison in Serbia, Kurti has been arrested several times in Kosovo. / KP
