About 2 thousand complaints of Kosovo Police work are recommended by 82 members

This year, the Kosovo Police Inspectorate has accepted 1,000 and 950 complaints of citizens to the work of the Kosovo Police dealing with misuse of official office. That's what the chief executive chief in the Kosovo Police Inspectorate said, the Hodaj Objection. He has indicated that over 600 complaints have been filed for criminal investigation in [...]

He has indicated that over 600 complaints have been filed for criminal investigation into the Department of Investigations, and as a result of criminal investigations the Inspectorate has recommended the suspension of 82 police officials while 33 police officers have been arrested.

This year the Kosovo Police Inspectorate has accepted a high number of complaints. We have an increase in the number of citizens' complaints to 30% in terms of last year. So far we have over 1,950 accepted. There are mainly citizens' complaints to police work over actions or allegations of various violations mainly of abuse of official duty and mistreatment during the exercise of official duty or various violations that police employees may face. From this number of complaints, over 600 have been forwarded for criminal investigation into the Department of Investigations and then as a result of criminal investigations, we have recommended the suspension of 82 officials or police officers and 33 police officers have been arrested as a result of joint investigations with relevant prosecutors”, he has declared EO.

According to him, police officials who are being investigated belong to all degrees.

In the number of officials investigating, there are certainly all degrees. Of course there are more suspects. I don't have an exact figure of what degree of employees we have suspected of, but it's high. The nature of the complaints has to do with abuse and misuse of official duty, and there is the frustration of citizens associated with the restrictions that police and inspectors have been forced to do towards businesses and we have also had a police monitoring plan on how the Government is implementing the measures for the prevention of Covidius”, Hodaj added.
