(5 years ago)The National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo has indicated that in 2021, 8 cases of HIV infection were reported in our country, of which 7 are from the community. MSM and a child under the age of 15. From 1986 to December 1, 2021, 139 [...] were reported in Kosovo.
From 1986 to December 1, 2021, 139 cases of HIV and AIDS have been reported in Kosovo. The largest number belongs to the male gender (73%). The most advanced age group is 25-34 (31%) and the age group 35-44, as well as 31%. So far, 50 people have died as a result of AIDS.
IK The KPS has stressed that “Kosovo is classified as a low-prevalitation HIV country among the general population and low presumption among the key population: men who have sex with men (MSM), people who inject drug (PID) and sex women (FSK). Existing data proves that we do not have a generalised or concentrated epidemic of HIV” infection.
The doctor, Murat Mehmeti, has said this case was diagnosed 4 years ago. He on Rtv 21 has said they have not yet discovered the way the same one has been infected.
