The number of abandoned children compared to past years has begun to decline noticeably. That is said by the Ministry of Labour and Social Management, where 14 cases of abandoned children have been recorded since January 2021 so far.
The same is said by the Neonatology Department.
In the Neonatology Department at QKUK, where there is a special room for their care, there are no children abandoned for weeks now.
The head nurse who worked with this kid for years says she never happened to see this empty room.
Until today, it hasn't happened for this experience of my being left so without any children”, told about RTK in Luce Jusuf.
That the number of abandoned children has been lowered and said by this department, most of the children abandoned this year have even been reunited with their families. These children usually stay at QKUK until the neonatal age of up to 28 days or can last another month.
After the end of this period in the clinic, it is the social worker who deals with legal procedures for protecting abandoned children.
From MPMS, they have shown that further procedure is shared in various forms, such as custody, family shelters within relatives, shelters with temporary standing or adoption.
The custody body of the Centre for Municipal Social Work is obliged to primarily engage in family reunion with the biological family.
