Wessel's lawyer: His case has been neglected because of ethnic affiliation

Law and security institutions have shown themselves unable to protect the minor from Fushe Kosova, who died two years ago.

The ombudsman has stressed that the tragic case of the 11-year-old, Kujtim Veseli, constitutes violations by institutions that were taken in this case, so domestic investigation by the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council has been sought.

For one prosecutor, a disciplinary measure of 30 percent of six months has been pronounced.

Lawyer Rina Kika said the case of the late man shows the state's negligence. His ethnic integrity, according to her, has been a factor in not being taken into account by institutions.

This is also ascertained by the Constitutional Court in Pristina, which has condemned the S.O. 25 years in prison. Why the memory case has been overlooked, for me it is clear that his ethnic affiliation and the objector's affiliation has been an important factor in why this case has not been addressed”, Kika has declared.

On the second day of the summit for Antigipsism, with the slogan “Road for Change”, the justice minister's political adviser Eros Gashi said members of the three communities are facing discrimination in all forms.

We have different forms of manifesting these discrimination. We witnessed the last two events, which constitute typical forms of discrimination. One in Gjakova, where young people from the Egyptian community were not allowed to enter and serve at a bar in gastronomy. Cameron Wessel's case had appeared in police in January 2019, where the victim's mother had shown that her son was being mistreated.
