As Bloomberg writes, Washington is closely monitoring the gathering of Russian forces near the Ukrainian border, where American officials have informed the EU of their concerns about a possible military operation.
The estimates are believed to be based on information the United States has not yet shared with European governments.
Russia says military deployments on its territory are an internal issue and it denies any aggressive intent, while accusing the US of provocation by conducting warship maneuvers on the Black Sea near its territory this week.
