Former VV candidate for Obilic chairman Halil Thaci will replace Alban Hysen, who will be the new mayor of Gjilan after winning Sunday's runoff.
In the Kosovo Assembly elections on February 14th, Halil Thaci had received 5 thousand and 921 votes.
Halil Thaci managed to defeat Xhafer Gashi in the race for mayor of Obilic.
In the run-off, Xhafer Gashi won by 61,41% and received 6 thousand and 414 votes, meanwhile Halil Thaci received 38.59% or 4 thousand 30 votes.
