Vuciq: We have opened the doors to Pristina for “Open Balkan”, can't answer that question every time

Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq said Kosovo, Montenegro and Bosnia are welcome to join the regional initiative “Open Balkan”, until he said he could answer the question about Kosovo at each meeting. “We have opened the doors to Pristina, Sarajevo and Podgorica. As long as I am president of Serbia, I cannot [...]
“We have opened the doors to Pristina, Sarajevo and Podgorica. As long as I am president of Serbia I cannot answer the same question at each meeting, because it is difficult for me to do so, not because I have any problems or any issues to answer the relevant questions”.
It seems to me that the three of us, along with our delegations, have entered the core of the problem. We understood all the problems and concerns our people face and are trying to solve these problems. We have many other jobs and concerns to justify something every time. If we have to do this, I don't think of justifying anyone, not the EU or anyone in the region. Everyone has such a clean and fine initiative”.
Vuciq, at the conference of leaders of the countries of “Open Balkan” in Belgrade, said no one should be justified for why they are making this initiative, Klankosova reported.tv.
It wouldn't be a serious policy if we came to justify each time to say this is part of this process and then get a negative assessment of our teachers no. We're doing this for the sake of our citizens and for their own good, why would we justify something good that we're doing? Why should we be justified if our people cross borders faster than they go now, that our trucks will not wait 24 or 48 hours? Why should we explain everything to everyone? When we do this, we go to something else that we're told they're waiting for, then they say we don't want to be part of because of Vuchiki or Rama. It's okay, because it's not your duty and no one's forcing you”.
The Serbian president said relations with Kosovo will be resolved with the dialogue in Brussels, implying that “Open Balkan” does not connect to this.
“We will resolve our relations with Pristina through dialogue in Brussels because we have different views, but “Open Balkan” in the region gives freedom to people, entrepreneurs, ensures better exchange of goods, discuss digitisation and transformation of our societies to work on this issue. I don't see why anyone has to be against it, who wants to be part is welcome, who doesn't want to be their problem. You will see the difference in the rate of economic growth between us and others, but it will take time for results”.
