Commission Chairman Haki Abazi at a media conference, said the German ambassador has demanded that dialogue with Serbia be as constructive as possible. Meanwhile, Germany is interested in ending the visa liberalisation issue as long as possible.
In this regard, Abazi said the German ambassador has recommended Kosovo to engage more in countries that are sceptical.
The visa liberalisation is one of the topics we discussed together. Germany's interest is to end this as soon as possible, most countries are pro. But it was also the ambassador's recommendation that we engage more fully in skeptical countries. The next topic we covered together are other investments from German companies. The investment environment must continue to improve, especially in fighting corruption. The high number of German-speaking” was effectively isolated, he said.
He said dialogue should be turned into bilateral issues between Kosovo and Serbia, not on domestic issues of Kosovo, as Serbia has misused.
The question of dialogue with Serbia was the topic of discussion. The ambassador demanded that this dialogue take place in the most constructive way possible. Our insistence was that this dialogue not be used to prevent Kosovo integration, as it has in the past. Our concern is that dialogue does not affect other aspects, as Serbia has used dialogue to prolong the Kosovo integration process”, he said.
Ahaz also commented on Yerenelli's visit to Kosovo:
“Z. G RENEL is welcome in Kosovo and the region, but from the institutional point of view, it has other responsibilities. There is only one institutional relationship -- that between the Beden administration and the Government of Kosovo”, he said.
